First Developmental Toy for Newborn

Dear guriya,

This post is written as a diary to my daughter ‘guriya’
Pregnancy is the time for preparation but we were truely not prepared with the toys. We wanted to ‘go with the flow’ in terms of buying toys. Lets have a glimpse of your first Developmental toy

Play gym mat with piano

Ahh! It was your first toy from your daddy after you were born. It actually reminded me of my daddy (rest in peace) as he used to bring gifts when i was sick 💗 We went to hospital for your first vaccination and guess what! Unexpectedly on return, daddy bought this toy for you. Excitement filled the entire family. First time you were bit cranky on it but later you achieved so many milestones.
Cause and Effect:
From 1-3 months, you would lie on your back and love to kick piano buttons with your feet. The cutest part is that you realised very soon that everytime you kicked the piano, the music comes out. Sometimes you would become so excited that you would hit the buttons with your utmost energy or sometimes you would simply press the piano buttons while being engaged with the rattles.
Later at 4 months, you were able to use hands for pressing buttons while lying on your tummy. You would make music and then pass a smile of acomplishment as if you did something!
I also plan to use this play gym mat with piano when you learn to sit so that you can play piano and get a little support too. I believe you will enjoy that too🥳
Fine Motor Skills:
The ability to grasp objects with your fingers is fine motor skills. One of the early years person acknowledged you at 4 months “Dear your fine motor skills are really developed”. The exposure to play gym mat with beautiful dangling rattles were a good invitation for you to hold and not only hold but put in your mouth🤦
Colours:
Though your eye muscles were yet not developed, the neutral (black, white) and primary colours (red) would quickly grab your attention. As usual, we would keep giving you names of colours. I dont know if you will learn the colours name a little earlier but what i hope is that you learn to appreciate the beauty of colourful nature🌈
Things in Garden:
The radiant colourfull garden-themed mat is treat to your eyes. You would see lady bug, dragon fly, mushrooms, sun, butterflies etc. We would even use this mat without piano even and you would slay in it💗

Investing in age appropriate and developmentally appropriate materials in early years stimulate holistic development and provides meaningful learning experiences.
