Carrot Puree for Babies

Carrot puree is one of the first best solid foods to begin with. Carrots are rich in Vitamin A and packed with fiber. It has a little naturally sweetened taste that enhances baby’s first food experience. Purees are always preferred as first foods due to its ability to adjust the consistency based on baby’s age.

Ingredients include 1-2 carrots

Cut the carrots into small pieces and steam it. You can either use steamer or pan filled with water covered with perforated steel plate for this. Steam it for 10-15 minutes. Now add breast milk/ formula milk and steamed carrot pieces in a grinder. You can add milk as per your required consistency. Now grind it as needed. The fresh puree is ready to serve. The best part is that you can freeze it in ice cube trays and use it as per need within a week.

Note: You can add cinnamon sticks in the boiling water while boiling/ steaming. You can also add some mint leaves for taste while serving.

Remember steaming is better than boiling because it maintains the nutritional content of the vegetables.
